How many blogs does one girl need?
I’ve been torn lately about what belongs in this blog. There are many things that I want to blog about, but don’t feel that they are relevant to the audience of this blog. The only pressure I get to write this blog comes from my knowledge that it is the primary communication between myself and my in-laws. It has become my method of keeping them informed about their grandson, whom they love and adore.
With that in mind, I have decided to turn this into a blog about my family, suitable for relatives and friends who are interested in what is going on in our lives. I will endevor to keep it interesting, but will likely only succeed if the reader actually wants to know irrelevant minute details about our lives.
If you want to hear my opinions, analysis, or random thoughts, you will have to read elsewhere. To aid you in doing so, I’m including links to my other writings in my incubator (in the sidebar), where they belong.

Bubbles = Dumb Mistake
I’m annoyed. I love the photo below of the first time Che saw bubbles. And I just ruined it by accidentally saving the web version of the photo over the raw file. I hate it when I make mistakes like that, but it is bound to happen when I am constantly alternating the photo editing software I use.

This is one picture I will only enjoy on screen. Good thing is, after today, I’ll probably forget all about it. (Except that blogs live forever.)

Look! More Corn!
Several years ago, I drove cross country to help my mom as she and my 7 or 8 youngest siblings at the time moved from Maine to Idaho. As we drove across Iowa, I would randomly yell “Look! More corn!” to one of my brothers over the walkie talkies we kept in each car. Remaining completely unteaseable, he would reply “yes, I see it.”
I don’t deny Iowa’s right to make a living by growing corn, but does the nation really need that much? After reading about the pollution dumped by biodiesel plants and watching the news story on “King Corn” in which 50% of the host’s carbon came from corn, I think I agree with my opinion the day we drove across Iowa. There is too much corn in America.
I bet most of it is Roundup-ready too, creating even more super-weeds.
